I just wanted to write to say thank you! My daughter had her first appointment with you last week and it would have been an understatement to say we were both apprehensive!
She has been petrified of the dentist since she was a toddler with no obvious reason for her fear and attending regular six monthly check ups has been a nightmare. She was referred to you by her own dentist, where the dentists were specialists with awkward children but still she has been difficult! Refusing to sit in the chair or open her mouth are her speciality!
When we arrived at your surgery, she was very nervous but did go into the treatment room willingly.The dentist explained everything to us including the procedures and possible braces that she will behaving before taking all the necessary measurements of her mouth. At each step, she was informed of what was going to be happening to her. When the chair was reclined, she became upset and started to cry until the chair was returned to a comfortable level to make her more settled before the treatment continued. Even having x-rays done of her teeth passed without incident!
I can’t thank you all enough for your patience. She is normally confident but dentists scare her. Although she didn’t enjoy her visit to your surgery, she is talking enthusiastically about returning for her next appointment and having her brace fitted!
